Jade Rawlinson

It was a family affair for Jade Rawlinson when it came to fundraising for the James Paget University Hospital Charity – with her siblings and parents getting involved.

A nursery nurse at the hospital’s Children’s Ward, Jade and her family’s donation means that children on their way to surgery can travel in style.

The child-size Mercedes Jeep with a JPUH 10 number plate delivers children to the operating theatre and turns what can be a stressful situation for the child and for their parents into a fun journey.

“We know the difference that fun and play can make to children when they are in hospital, it’s such an important part of their recovery,” said Jade.

Mum Brenda helped raise cash with raffles at Caroline Brewster Clairvoyant evenings while sister Shelley Graysmark, who runs Top Body Gym in Gorleston with her husband Scott, raised funds with help from gym members.

The money raised funded a number of ride-on toys including the Mercedes, which has a remote control for parents and staff to use, and three Little Tikes ride-on toys (plus a toy petrol pump!).
