But if you have a personal connection to the hospital and would like to make a donation towards a specific area, ward or project, please get in touch with Maxine Taylor to let us know and we will make sure this happens. What is Gift Aid and how does it help? Expand Thanks to the government's Gift Aid scheme, if you are a UK taxpayer, the James Paget University Hospital Charity can reclaim the tax on all of the donations that you make. This means that your gifts are worth up to 28 per cent more to us at no extra cost to you. If you pay tax on your income, savings or pension you will qualify for the Gift Aid scheme. You must be paying at least 25p in tax for every £1 you donate. To join the scheme when you make a donation, simply tick the Gift Aid box on the online donation form. If you have already made a donation and would like add Gift Aid, you can fill out our Gift Aid declaration form
Can I organise my own bucket collection? Expand It does depend on where you plan to do this – as explained here Fundraise. You will need written permission from the owner or manager if it is inside a shop, supermarket or shopping centre and if you want to organise a bucket collection in a public space e.g. a city centre or park you must apply for a license from your local council. You will need to apply for this online via your local authority’s website (we cannot apply on your behalf.)
Am I allowed to use your logo on posters/leaflets and so forth that I've made to advertise my own event? Expand We do have guidelines in place around the use of our charity logo, so it is always best to contact us first if would like to use our logo to help promote/advertise your fundraising. We can then ensure you have the correct version to meet legal requirements. All printed and digital materials featuring the logo must be approved by your contact point in the Fundraising Team. To request a copy of our logo, please email us [email protected]
Will the charity provide me with funds to organise a fundraising activity? For example if i need to hire a venue, or print posters? Expand We would not be able to provide funds for you to run a fundraising activity – this is the same for everyone who fundraises for us. However some of the best fundraising activities are simple and don’t need much money to set them up, for example a cake sale or fancy dress activity
I would like my money to buy a specific piece of equipment Expand This is absolutely possible but can take some time for the Fundraising Team to clarify with the hospital wards what items they may need and the cost involved. Please call the charity office team to discuss this further on 01493 453348.
Shouldn't the NHS pay for care? Expand The NHS covers the hospital's running costs and allows us to treat thousands of patients every year but it’s the extra support from the public that helps us pay for the areas which government money can’t stretch to. With your help we can help fund projects which can make a huge difference to the lives of all our patients, their families and our staff.
