A huge cheque for over £2,280 has been handed over to our hospital charity after three of our surgeons completed a London to Brighton cycle ride in September.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Consultant Surgeons Christopher Liao and Mr Vamsi Velchuru and Urologist Mr Lokesh Suraparaju and everyone who supported their fundraising.

The three cycled from the capital to the south-coast resort – a total of 55 miles – during an annual event which allows cyclists to complete the route in their own time, and to raise money for a charity of their choice.

All three of our surgeons decided to raise funds for our hospital charity and yesterday they met with charity co-ordinator Maxine Taylor to formally handover the cheque for a total of £2,287.53.

Maxine said; “This is an amazing donation – the single biggest total raised by members of our staff since our charity re-launched – and we are really grateful to them and everyone who supported their cycle ride. Thank you for supporting our hospital charity, it is really appreciated.”
