Here’s our A to Z of fundraising ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Afternoon Tea

The genteel way to raise funds while enjoying a slice of really great cake! Afternoon Tea fundraisers are always popular – and a great place to hold a raffle at the same time!

Bake sale

Be a star baker for the James Paget by hosting a bake sale! Do it at home, at work, at school or in your place of worship: wherever you like! Swap delicious treats for donations and you’ll be making a huge difference to the Paget.

Coffee morning

Sell coffee and cakes – by the slice or to take away – persuade keen bakers to make you treats, keep the brews coming, it’s a classic way to raise cash!

Dancing

Hire a venue, organise a danceathon, conga around your workplace, throw a fundraising ball or just a sponsored boogie, dancing is not only a fun way to raise money, it’s healthy, too!

Easter Egg Hunt

One for spring chickens! If you’ve got a large garden or can borrow one, throw an Easter egg hunt and charge an admission with funds going to the James Paget University Hospital Charity.

Football match

Whether you opt for a full team or five-a-side, this is the perfect 90-minute fundraiser that’s sure to make a difference to the lives of patients at the Paget. Raise funds by charging a players' fee and ask the spectators to donate to take part in a penalty shoot out.

Give it up!

Are you itching to make a big life change? Let us be your inspiration! If your habit is costly, donate the money you save to your community hospital

Head shave

Brave the shave for a fantastic cause and raise awareness and funds for the James Paget University Hospital Charity

Ironing

Are you Waveney’s best ironer? Offer your services to those that struggle to keep crease-free for a day, a day a week, a week a year – with all proceeds raised for the Paget!

Jewellery

Whether you’re having a clear-out and want to use the money you’ve raised selling items you and your family no longer want or, if you make your own, selling jewellery is a great way to donate to the James Paget.

Karaoke Night

You’ll be surprised how many of your friends and colleagues are itching to step up to the mic to showcase their singing skills! Rent or borrow a karaoke machine

Lighting up the night

Grab your lanterns, torches and glowsticks and light up the night for the James Paget University Hospital with a sponsored winter evening walk – make sure there’s hot soup and tea at the end of the walk to warm everyone up!

Matched giving

Whether you’re raising money in the office or outside of work, ask your employer about matched giving. Lots of our fundraisers have doubled the amount raised by their employer so don't be afraid to ask.

Nostalgia night

Pick a decade and then go to town! Whether you host a small-scale event at home where you invite friends over in the clothes of the era for a night of themed food, music and entertainment or scale-up to something open to the public, a nostalgia night is bound to attract lots of people prepared to pay an entrance fee!

Open Garden

If you have a garden you’re most proud of, why not open your gates to the public so they too can enjoy your beautiful outdoor space? If your raised beds could help our Raise a Rainbow appeal we’d love to hear from you!

Put on a gig, a concert, performance or play…

Turn fundraising into something really special by hosting your own event which involves learning lines or taking to the stage. Not only will you raise cash for a great cause, you’ll also make new friends and possibly learn a new skill!

Quiz night

Why not hold your own quiz night with family and friends? Head to your local pub or village hall and either write your own quiz or find a ready-made one online. Rope a friend in to be your quiz-master and charge a donation fee for participating; it’s a fun way to fundraise!

Raffle

Ask your friends and family and local businesses to help you raise money for the James Paget University Hospital by donating prizes and then raffling them off to raise funds. Make sure you read our guidelines about holding a raffle here (LINK TO FUNDRAISING INFO)

Special occasion giving

There are all sorts of personal reasons why people decide to turn a special event, meaningful milestone or anniversary into a reason to fundraise for us. Whatever the occasion, you too can support our work while celebrating something special with your family and friends.

Think outside the box

Dean Ovel built a human-sized wooden hamster wheel in his back garden and took it to his local high street where he ran in front of shoppers for 24 hours straight! He raised almost £8,000 for his local hospital’s charity. Nothing is too outrageous as long as its legal and safe!

Uniform – or lack of!

Have a Mufti Day at school or work where everyone donates £1 to go uniform-free for the day!

Vintage

It’s the latest buzz-word and a sure-fire way to attract a crowd of people keen to part with their cash! Host a vintage sale in a community centre or even in your garden and invite people to pay for their stand and donate a percentage of their profits to the James Paget University Hospital Charity.

Work fundraising

Fundraising at your place of work is a great way to make money for your local hospital while having a great time with your colleagues. How about a cake or book sale? A car wash in the car park? An auction of promises?

Xmas

Whether it’s Christmas Sweater Day where everyone pays £1 to join in, carol singing, Christmas Craft Fairs, Nativity Plays, asking friends and family to donate to a great cause as a gift – there are lots of ways that you can make the season of giving really meaningful this year.

Year to Remember

What's the most memorable year of your life? Why not make it this year, for all the right reasons. What could you do for a year to make a difference? Doing something for 365 days shows ultimate dedication and is a sure way to encourage people to sponsor you. How about combining the challenge with a healthy new habit?

Zumba

We admit it, Z was a struggle! But a Zumba-thon really is a great way to get fit AND raise cash for the Paget!

Contact us and let us know your fundraising idea - we will ask you to drop us a line with the details and venue etc
